
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation, Inc., was incorporated in the State of Tennessee on February 3, 2006 as a Public Benefit Corporation. The purpose is to support charitable, scientific and educational purposes designed to promote the general health of the residents of the City of Clarksville, Tennessee, the County of Montgomery, Tennessee and the counties of northern Middle Tennessee. The assets of Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation, Inc., (abbreviated as Community Health Foundation for convenience), are generated from properties transferred from the previous hospital board and from sale of properties owned by the board. Additional revenue is anticipated from the sale of the old Memorial Hospital site and a percentage of profits from the Gateway Health Systems hospital.
There are 13 members of this Community Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, eleven of whom are appointed by the City and by the County Mayors and serve as volunteers. They regularly meet to review grant applications and make decisions on the allocation of Community Health Foundation funds. The Board is led by Chairman Ben Kimbrough with members Marcos A. Arancibia; Anne K. Black, Ph.D., R.D.; Mayor Carolyn Bowers; Kay Drew, Secretary; Jennifer Lowe Ellis, MD, MPH; L.M. Ellis; Andre S. Fresco, MPA; Mayor Kim McMillan; Mike O’Malley, Vice-Chairman; Priscilla G. Story; Jack B. Turner; and Harold Vann, MD.
